Tips For Caring For Invisalign Braces

When you decide to get clear braces instead of the traditional silver ones you will be choosing braces that are more comfortable, easier to clean, and less likely to be noticed by every person that passes you on the street. The Invisalign braces are not the solution in every mouth, but they are the solution for many. Cleaning clear braces is a lot easier than cleaning traditional silver brackets and wires. The clear braces are removable from your mouth so you can easily remove any food particles that gets trapped beneath them, where on the traditional braces you have to have picks, and brushes to work food particles out from behind the brackets. Invisalign braces should never be cleansed with a regular tooth brush and tooth paste. The bristles on a tooth brush can easily scratch the surface of the Invisalign braces. Once you get a scratch on the surface the braces can become discolored by food particles that get into these scratches and your braces that you could barely see become eye-sores that stick out. You should get a denture style cup with your braces so that you can place them in the cup when they are not in your mouth. You can buy specially formulated cleanser tablets like the ones that people use to cleanse their dentures and soak the devices in these solutions to get them clean. When you take them out of the solution you will need to rinse them with cool water to remove any of the residue left behind by the cleanser. When you get these types of orthodontic pieces the price of one replacement is generally figured into the original price the orthodontist quotes you. This is because the majority of people that have these devices in their mouths are going to lose their original pair, at least once. People get in a bad habit of taking the devices out of their mouths and setting them on nightstands, or on the edges of bathroom sinks. Then they leave them there when they go home and the device is lost, broken, or thrown away. Make a habit of always carrying your cleansing cup with you when you go somewhere. Keep your devices in the cup when they are not in your mouth and you will never have to use that replacement device. Your orthodontist may even refund some of your money if you never have to get the replacement. Keeping these devices moist will help keep them from cracking and breaking. When you place them in the cup you should cover them with a small amount of cool water to keep them moist. This will get you in the habit of rinsing your device every time you remove it so you will be able to keep it cleaner. Caring for these devices is really not hard to do. All of this placing them into the cup sounds like a big deal, but it only takes seconds to drop them into the storage cup and then you are on your way. You will also always have better breath if you practice keeping your devices in the storage cups.
